Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 1987 with the sponsorship of department of Electronics , Government of India for initiating the course of MCA. The initial intake was 30 students for MCA, the intake has been later enhanced to 60. Later the department has initiated to start M. Tech in Computer Science subsequently as a natural extension to this the department has started to offer the Ph. D program in computer science in general and the specific areas have been Image Processing, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing , Data Mining etc., The department has got several MOUs with the companies which are basically small and medium. The small companies are actually the start-ups which are using the cutting edge technologies in the market place and their products are portable on to different kinds of devices like laptop, tablet and mobile. The medium size companies have got their well established foot print in the IT domain operating out of India and have the capability to handle both onsite and offshore projects. The department continuously engages the students to make them proactive in learning new technologies, improving their communication and presentation skills. These efforts have started paying off in terms of good placements and outstanding feedback the department receives from the employees. Many of the students from the department have become CEOs , CTOs and Project Managers. All these students are actually part of our invaluable alumni.
