The Department of Statistics - Acharya Nagarjuna University established with the objective of promoting research and higher learning in the discipline of Statistics has completed 36 years of its existence on the university campus as on November 2016. All its faculty members are in the cadre of Professors. The department has acquired due recognition with respect to a number of quantified parameters as detailed below.

? The founders of the department have practiced and trained all the members of the department to take up any assignment with team spirit and team involvement. The
skills of the staff in distributing any joint activity are mutually complementary and
exhaustive leading their union to completeness for the whole work.
? The department strongly believes in ?Working Joyfully? rather than working hard, for complete involvement be in teaching, research guidance, research publication or any extra curricular activity.
? The department pioneered computer education on the campus & made research a continuous habituated process of academic routine.
? The recognitions received by the department by UGC, CSIR, DST, A.P. Academy of Sciences etc. are the bi - products of continuous collective ongoing academic activity and its consistent performance.
