About the College:

   The Ongole district name has been changed after the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu garu. It is one of the backward districts of Andhra Pradesh. The district is not only backward in the sphere of Economy, but also backward in the field of education especially in higher education.The backwardness can overcome in any field will be possible only with the provision of avenues of education. In recent times, many educationalists and politicians have put serious efforts for the promotion of P.G. Centre for Prakasam District. This long lasting efforts materialized only during the reign of Prof. Y.C.Simhadri garu, the then Vice-Chancellor. He can be considered the Founding Father of the A.N.U. Ongole Campus at Ongole.

      The P.G. Centre was started on 16th Nov, 1993 with four departments (M.A. History, M.A. Economics, M.Sc. Mathematics and M.Com & M.B.A) and five courses. Later in 2008 two courses were started i.e., Social Work and M.Ed., and in 2014 M.Sc. Statistics and B. P. Ed. Courses were initiated. In the present academic year i.e., 2018-19, M. P. Ed. Course has been started. Recently, Dr. Pola Bhaskar, Collector & vice-chancellor of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam University has been proposed to start another 11 new courses for 2 year Science Post Graduate courses 5 year Integrated courses and one year Diploma courses for the academic years 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 at Pernamitta Campus of Acharya Nagarjuna University Ongole Campus, Ongole.

Infrastructure:

   The campus equipped with a central library, and it is consisting with 8225 books, 28 periodicals and 07 news papers. At present P.G. centre located at N.S.P. Colony, Ongole. The present P.G. Centre existed with 3.16 acres, and possessed one Administrative cum Academic Block, Library and three sheds with asbestos roof. In addition to the present campus it has 109.80 acres of land at Pernamitta (Ongole). Acharya Nagarjuna University has constructed one academic block with a cost an amount of Rupees one crore at Pernamitta site. Previously, the honorable vice-chancellor Dr. A. Rajendraprasad Garu has been sanctioned an amount of Rupees 3 crores for construction of one hostel building and compound wall at Pernamitta site. In the later initiation of the construction the compound wall was partially completed but the construction of hostel building is pending till to date. Recently, Dr. Pola Bhaskar, Collector & vice-chancellor of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam University has been proposed to construction of Auditorium, Shilparamam, Hostel Buildings and also DPR prepared by the Bharghava Architecture to construction of buildings for College of Arts, College of Science, College of Commerce & Management, College of Physical Education with the estimation cost of Rupees three hundred crores at Pernamitta Campus of Acharya Nagarjuna University Ongole Campus, Ongole.

Staff Particulars:

     At present A.N.U. Ongole Campus have 5 Associate Professors, 6 Assistant Professors, 9 Assistant Professors (Contract Basis), 8 Guest faculties, 2 consolidated basis employees and 20 supporting staff.
     Since the beginning of the A.N.U. Ongole Campus, 24 batches of students have been passed out. Many students have secured good positions and are settled in various capacities in public and private sectors. At present students strength 410 (Girls 168 + Boys 242), and research Scholars 150. The alumni of the institute have striving to take this centre into limelight with their academic achievements.

Achievements:

   All the faculty, students and research scholars participated in Mavuru Janmabhoomi programme during 02-01-2018 to 11-01-2018. 10 students from Physical Education and Sports Sciences are participated in inter university and at national level sports meet.
